Prolefeed Studios resurrect the cat killers

catgunn.jpgWhat do you do when your state is seemingly overrun by a clutter of cats and a kindle of kittens? In Wisconsin, we shoot 'em. Or else we would have been if legislation that sought to legalize the shooting of cats was passed in April of 2005. Prolefeed Sudios, producers of 2004's War Is Sell, have returned with Here Kitty, Kitty. While War Is Sell took a hard look at the jingoistic propaganda in the United States during war time, Hello Kitty, Kitty appears to be a much more light hearted film capturing the drama and outrage surrounding the Felis silvestris catus in the state of Wisconsin.

The debate was raised by Wisconsin's Conservation Congress as they sought to find a way to deal with the issue of feral cats. If accepted the proposal would have allowed hunters to shoot uncollared cats find roaming outdoors. The debate raged until Governor Jim Doyle ordered the issue be put to bed as it was "making Wisconsin a laughingstock." He wasn't lying, we tracked the blog discussion way back in April of 2005 right here on dane101 (See: Hunters outraged, say nine lives give cats unfair advantage).

Here Kitty, Kitty is directed by Andy Beversdorf who was a producer on War is Sell. According to Prolefeed, the film "scratches beneath the media blitz to reveal a surprisingly nuanced tale involving ruthless cat-lovers, unapologetic cat-drowners, slandered scientists, death threats, and deposed politicians."
