We're happy to be partnering up with the Majestic for a return of Brew n' Views on their silver screen. The next Bren n' View will be on August 24 and feature two films aiming straight at the nostalgia nerves of two generations. The night starts with a showing of the 1985 classic The Goonies at 8 p.m. Attendees will also be able to enjoy free rocky road ice cream from The Chocolate Shoppe. The Goonies will be followed by the 1993 classic The Sandlot at 10 p.m. The screenings are separate events, so if you prefer one to the other you don't need to come for both screenings.
The venue will also be serving up unique cocktails themed to the films including "The Beast" and "The Chester Copperpot"
There are still a handful of tickets available for tonight's RiffTrax screening of "Manos" The Hands of Fate at Marcus Point Theatre. If you've never been to a RiffTrax screening, essentially you join dozens of theatergoers around the country watching a live feed of Kevin Murphy, Bill Corbett, and Mike Nelson talking over the film as they did once upon a time with MST3K. The showing is at 7 p.m.
Sundance Madison is bringing backs it's Summer Classics Series starting August 23 with a screening of Jaws. Each Thursday until September 27 will offer an opportunity for film fans to catch an old favorite on the big screen. Other films scheduled to run include Doctor Zhivago, The African Queen, Chinatown, and Bridge on the River Kwai.
While there aren't many details available yet Madison's Horror Film Festival is quickly approaching in early November. Independent film submissions are still be accepted until September 28.
