Kenosha Police blocking access to Rep. Paul Ryan's offices
Post by Jesse Russell on 8/24/2011 11:03am
When the Ryan Seven showed up at Rep. Paul Ryan's offices for a fifth day of requesting a meeting they were greeted with locked doors and security provided by the City of Kenosha Police Department. Scott Page, one of the constituents seeking an audience with his representative said they were told they aren't allowed to park in the parking lot or enter the building unless they have an appointment with the Congressman. Page said they've tried to call the offices from outside to set up an appointment, but the phones aren't being answered.
A call by dane101 to the posted Ryan office number, (262) 654-1901, at 10:30 a.m. resulted in no answer.
Page said they still haven't received any personal contact from Ryan about his groups job creation issues.
Video from the lock-out is below.

This behavior is ridiculous.

This behavior is ridiculous. I have seen the woman who is speaking in this video on various sites. She is complaining about not having a job, yet spends all of her time stalking Ryan. I am going to give a piece of advice: ' if you worked as hard at finding a job as you do complaining...you would be employed". I hope none of these people are teachers as it makes me NEVER want to admit that I am one too. Finally, look up the word "democracy"...you are using it the wrong way...and FYI, we live in a Republic. My goodness this needs to end.

Riiiiight.. because protests and sit-ins haven't ever been a successful part of our countries history. These people have all the right and reason in the world to be doing what they are. Simple as that. I would hate to admit that you were a teacher of mine!
FYI, save the grammar nazi bit.

And they have also been very unsuccessful also. Such as the events in WI the past months. These actions have made people against unions and public sector employees. Get a clue, people are tired of these activist actions. All you are doing is disrupting and annoying everyone.

I see. It's okay for the TEA Party to protest at Congressional offices and demand face-to-face meetings, but not the unemployed. Got it.

ladies, you are both so out of touch. we are making a difference. it is low information people like you both are who we are trying to educate. we are fighting for you as well. this has always been middle class against transnational corporations who want people to work for them for pennies on the dollar. and if you think it can't happen here in the usa. wake up sisters. you will be the first ones who will lose your wages.
and there are thousands of people who are protesting all over the country, not just in wi. grow up young ladies....stop expecting daddy to take care of you.
please come and learn something. attend the Democracy Convention in Madison. it is not just for Democrats. it is for all who believe in Democracy in the USA.
do you???

Ya right, it's us that are out of touch. The only difference you are making is getting more people to hate the unions/obama/democrats, and be more conservative. Don't you read peoples opinions on how ridiculous you are being? And most of you should not be raising children or teaching. Maybe you should do some research........ You idiots are proven wrong at every turn. Why would I attend the Democracy Convention? I can listen to hate and lies simply by reading forums and watching these stupid tantrums. You see you don't realize you are a small percentage of our REPUBLIC and your hate and lies just make you smaller. You have even turned democrats against you. I am the middle class and I know what's best for me and it's not your tantrums and idiot chants. That's why I'm middle class, I have worked for what I have and did not expect the sugar daddy government to give me free stuff. So you thousand people can go ahead and protest all you want, but quit stepping on my rights and the rights of the millions of others and quit disrupting business's. Go pray to your screw-up obama and his buddies at GE.
I suspect I'd agree with you

Do you think it's about time to quit obstructing state business. I, for one, am getting really sick of the complaining, childish behavior, hooting and hollering, noise making, crowds leaving mess and damage, wasting tax payers money, etc. You don't see this behavior from the Right. Elections are held to secure the officials that the MAJORITY want in office. Sorry that you disagree, but this is how the system works. Personally, I think that all the Democratic elected officials that fled the state should have lost their jobs. Anyone else in any other profession would have. And how do you get recall elections on officials just because you don't like their policies??? Wait until the next election and replace them...if you can. That's what elections are for.

Did any of the posters who say they are tired of the protesters making noise and disrupting business miss the part where it states these protesters have tried on numerous occasions to call, and to set an appointment? Maybe instead of pointing the finger at the protestors, you could ask why the representative is NOT speaking in a civil manner to his constituents. What alternative advice do you have, besides the criticism of how the protestors are TRYING? Anything constructive? Anything helpful? Didn't think so.

I would suggest acting like a grownup now, and then not voting for Paul Ryan in 2012. That's what democracy looks like.
He has tens of thousands of constituents. The idea that a person should be able to just show up at one of his regional offices and demand to speak to him is completely absurd. Hes on vacation. He's already had something like 17 town hall meetings with constituents this year. He's offered to have a conference call with these idiots, which I think is a stupid, dangerous precedent to set in response to a childish tantrum. They've rejected an opportunity to submit a written request to meet at a later date.
When you strip away all the whining and empty rhetoric this is just a bunch of spoiled brats who woke up one day, decided they really, really care about politics, and now want the entire system to shut down and cater directly and only to them. It's the left wing tea party.
Blatent Disrespect

For those of you whining about how disrespectful it is to whine, get a clue. You are the problem. Probably Paul Ryan writing in as "Kristi" and "Cindy" anyway. The constituents he answers to are the Koch brothers and Carl Rove.

Actually if you look at average educational attainment liberals are much more likely to have graduated from college and also have higher incomes on average.
I am a second career nurse and I make a very good income. I worked very hard to complete nursing school at age 48. But I also recognize that without a little luck and a lot of support from family and friends and society at large that I probably would not have made it.
It is fair to criticise any poitician who fails to meet with constituents.
