Dane101 announced a new donation drive at a live event held at The Fountain restaurant and bar on May 17, 2011. This new fundraising effort will help us continue our locally based, independent, investigative coverage of news, arts, and culture in Wisconsin, and to support our mission to be the source people use to inform themselves about current events in the state.

Feeding off of our successful “Be The Media” Start Some Good campaign, we have secured a fiscal non-profit partner in the Center for Community Stewardship as we move ahead with the process of becoming a not-for-profit media outlet.

The dane101 organization is many-faceted, and all sides, from our events to our on-the-Capitol-grounds grassroots reporting, stand to benefit from this new relationship. Our journalism is rooted in ethics: we strive to educate the public, and our ever-growing stable of freelance writers is how we do it. They adhere to high standards of the journalistic craft, and are engaged directly in our communities. By making information as accessible and comprehensive as possible, we hope to foster civil and social involvement by as many people as we can, especially those whose voices have traditionally been underrepresented, and to provide a learning environment for those who wish to better understand their place in the 21st century.

Our events are a forum for local arts and culture, bringing everything from concerts and open mic nights, to variety shows and burlesque cabarets to the people of our towns, cities, and state. Growing every year dane101's events make room on the stage for cutting edge arts and culture, entertainment and information.

Membership:

For any monetary donation, we will add you to our email newsletter, which gives advanced notice of events and special ticket sales. We will also invite you to our annual thank-you party.

Be a sustaining member: For a $10/mo. basic membership you will get all of the above, plus a dane101 tee shirt.

For a $25/mo. sustaining membership, you get all that, plus buy-one-get-one-free privileges to all dane101 events.

For a $50/mo. “Rockstar” membership, you get all that, plus two free tickets to all dane101 events for a year as well as special recognition on our website.
