Madison Pop Fest: Gallery One
All signs point to "success" for the third year of Madison Pop Fest on the UW-Madison campus. This entry includes some images I was able to capture during Friday's showcase at the Music Hall (hosted by justsayinisall.com) before my camera battery died. More images are available at Pixelated Imagination. A video featuring a portion of Andrew WK's Thursday night lecture is available on YouTube and Kyle Pfister has a write up of the event. Muzzle of Bees hosted Saturday's event at the Music Hall which featured rising star Bon Iver. It was Bon Iver's first show since signing with promotion agency The Billions Corporation who drove its entire staff up from Chicago and used the opportunity to check out Madison. The company's President was seen in an "opera box" cross town at the Majestic's sold out Robert Fripp and the League of Crafty Guitarists show. Also notable is that while all of this was going on Saturday the Orpheum managed to sell out the Modest Mouse show, the M.O.T.O., Pistols at Dawn, and Box Social show packed the Crystal Corner, and the High Noon Saloon saw more than 250 through the door for the El Valiente CD release party featuring Cougar and Revolving Doors.
Friday pictures below feature Madison's Vid Libert, Best Friends Forever's Bri Smith, and Billy Harvey. Click on them to view larger.
