For each of the below shows we have a pair of tickets available to the first person who emails us with the name of the performer in the subject line. Over the Rhine :: Majestic Theatre :: November 27

Over the Rhine hit the Majestic Theatre tonight for a 7:30 p.m. show. It isn't very often that a band can succinctly describe their own sound. Over the Rhine, to my knowledge, are the only band who have nailed themselves on the head when they wrote that they sound like "post-nuclear, pseudo-alternative, folk-tinged art-pop." We have a winner for Over the Rhine.

Cowboy Junkies :: Majestic Theatre :: November 28

Who remembers the Cowboy Junkies haunting version of the Velvet Underground's "Sweet Jane"? The band has seemed quiet stateside while rerecording one of their most well known works – The Trinity Sessions – earlier this year with the help of Ryan Adams, Vic Chesnutt, Natalie Merchant, and Jeff Bird up in their home country of Canada. CJ always put on an intimate show, but this one at the Majestic promises to be even more so as seating is limited to 300.

Iron Maidens :: The Annex :: November 30

From the Annex: The Iron Maidens have quickly established themselves as one of southern California’s most popular tribute acts and are rapidly gaining international recognition. The band boasts beauty as well as excellent musicianship, lively stage presence, and a remarkable stage show with theatrical scenes interspersed throughout.

First and foremost on the agenda of The Iron Maidens is talent. These women are highly trained professionals with diversified musical backgrounds ranging from orchestral and musical theater to blues and rock. The band and its members have been the recipients of many awards including best tribute band, and best in category (guitar, bass, drums, voice) at events such as The Rock City News Awards, The LA Music Awards, and The All Access Magazine Award Show to name a few.
